Hall of Fame Member - Debbie Euchner
The individual that we have chosen to honour this year has been involved in 5 pin bowling since she was a teenager. She came up through the YBC program in Yellowknife, participated at the YBC 4Steps to Stardom Nationals and advanced to the TSN Pins Game on television.
She then moved into the adult divcision of NWT bowling and has been a member of the NWT National Open team at least thirteen times. She has also been NWT Ladies Single bowler at the National Open. She has qualified for numerous tournaments and her team won bronze at the Classified Tournament last year.
Her accomplishments as a bowler have been many but even more impressive is her overall contribution to the Yellowknife Zone, the NWT Association and the Kids Help Phone Foundation. She has held several positions on the NWT Board of Directors including secretary, Fund Raising Director, Marketing Director and Vice President going back to 1988. She has served on League Executives and has always been a source of information for new bowlers and new Executives.
She is a certified Judge of Play/Scorekeeper and a Lane Certification Official.
She was the KHP Bowlathon Coordinator in Yellowknife for several years and has been the NWT KHP Chairperson for the past couple of years. She has been a committed ambassador for the KHP Foundation and is responsible for a lot of the success we have had with this fund raiser.
She has been a cheerful volunteer and, in her own words, "has worked a million bingos". She is also a member of the Hall of Fame Committee so we couldn't surprise her.
