National Event Assessments

I thought I would take a moment to layout of how the assessments to a bowler are determined when you qualify for a national competition.

Congratulations you made it!  Now what?

1. The NWT 5 Pin assesses our zone $1200/bowler to cover airfare, lodging and tournament costs.
2. In order to lessen that financial burden to our bowlers, the Zone long ago decided that if a bowler volunteered for a Bingo we would reduce the fee passed on to the bowler.
3. Great, how much?
4. Basically, $25/hour volunteered is reduced from that $1200 up to a minimum assessment of $300.
5. There are other ways to get volunteer hours; volunteer for the board of either the YK zone or the NWT 5, or get a friend to help at a bingo.
